Antagata Doko sa for Treble Voices

Antagata Doko sa for Treble Voices

From Ko MATSUSHITA : I composed this choral work for Guangzh
ou Children's Palace Choir in the People's Republic of China
in 2010, wishing the delicate nuances and delightful rhythm
s of Japanese language to be known to the people of many cou
ntries. The original song of this work, "Antagata Doko sa"(
Where are you all from?), is a warabeuta (traditional Japane
se children”Ēs song), which has been usually sung while chil
dren are bouncing a temari (handball) . And so, though it ma
y be inappropriate to sing in a fast tempo, I do expect this
song to be sung with a good pace and a jaunty rhythm to evo
ke a cheerful and humorous mood.
